Gymnastics Events 2008 Tyson Fitness Challenge and National Gymnastics Day Athens Clarke Gymnastics Academy invites you to join us for a day of fun! The Tyson Fitness Challenge is not about teaching gymnastics skills, but is about using gymnastics to help kids become more physically fit as well as learn about a well-balanced diet. The program encourages physical fitness through fun activites that emphasize four fundamentals of fitness: cardiovascular exercise, strength training, flexibility, and nutrition. Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves as they make their way through timed obstacle courses. See how many situps they can do in 30-seconds. We will also have demonstrations from our competitive gymnasts. We encourage participants to join us in the world's largest cartwheel-a-thon by downloading a pledge form and then solicit as many pledges as you possible can. Bring your forms and monies to the event and perform as many cartwheels as you can in 60-seconds. Each participant will receive a certificate for their participatin in the cartwheel-a-thon and will be eligible for other prizes. All monies raised will benefit the Children's Miracle Network and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Last year we were able to raise $859. Help us raise even more this year!!! Ages: 4 - 15 years Date: Saturday, September 13, 2008 Time: 10 a.m. - 12 noon Location: Bishop Park Gym Fee: FREE; however we will be accepting donations for the Children's Miracle Network 4th Annual Flip 'n Run 5K and Fun Run Join us for our annual 5K and Fun Run Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Sandy Creek Park. The Fun Run will begin at 2 p.m. with the 5K beginning at 2:30 p.m. Download a registration form or visit www.active.com. Pre-registration deadline is December 5, 2008. Registration: $15 Pre-registration prior to December 5; $20 after December 5 and day of race; $40 Family package (unlimited immediate family members) only available with pre-registration until December 5. All pre-regisration entrants will receive a long sleeved t-shirt. Race day registrants will receive t-shirts as they are available. 2008 Tumble Bee Olympiad Thanks to all of our participants, families, and friends for making our event a huge success!!! This year's Tumble Bee raised over $2,250 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We could not have done it without your support!!! We have the world's most giving supporters and friends!!!! 2008 National Breast Cancer Awareness Month October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For the 8th straight year, Athens Clarke Gymnastics Academy will help bring awareness to a disease that affects so many. Last year with the help and support of our participants we were able to raise over $1,125 during our Cartwheels for Cancer Campaign! We could not have done it without your support!! This year we seek your support again as we strive to exceed the amount we raised last year. You can show your support by sponsoring a participant during the Cartwheels for Cancer Campaign. We will also have our Pink Ribbon Campaign throughout the month were we will sell Pink ribbons for $1. Ribbons will be displayed in our lobby. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.
