Hiking Classes at Sandy Creek ParkAre you interested in learning some basic hiking techniques, map reading, and more? Then join our trained staff on one or all of these hiking adventures in the region. Transportation will be provided for all courses, but please bring a sack lunch for 102 and 103. All participants need to bring a full water bottle and snack, and wear good sturdy hiking shoes and be prepared for the weather (rain or shine!) Eatin' with the CrittersBring a sack lunch and join us on alternating Wednesday afternoons for an hour of fun exploring the world and the animals that inhabit it. OLur them will be "Circle of Life" for this series. Topics include lifecycles, metamorphosis, decomposition, and more. Zoo Animal Feeding Tours Explore the world of Georgia wildlife at Bear Hollow. See more than a dozen species of birds and mammals as you tour. Learn all about the resident animals and why they cannot be released to the wild. Each has its own story. 2nd Annual Beach Party at Sandy Creek Park With Pam Blanchard and the Sunny Side Up Band School’s out for summer! Time to hit the beach and boogie down! Join us at Sandy Creek Park for a beach party with live music (6:30pm), swimming, sand castle building contest (judging at 6pm), and fun and entertainment for kids of all ages. Bring a picnic dinner. Open House - “Tropics to the Tundra”Join us to celebrate International Migratory Bird Day. Snake Day Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon exploring the misunderstood and secret world of snakes. Learn about venomous snakes and identification, touch a snake, explore the amazing diversity of our native Georgia snakes and enjoy snake-related crafts and games throughout the afternoon.
