Swimming Pools
ACC Leisure Services operates five public outdoor pools. These pools are open during the summer months, only.

The pools are closed and will re-open May 2010.

Pool Admission Fees amd Pool Passes
$1.00 per person

Individual pool passes are $20. Family(up to 4) pool passes are $30.

Lifeguard Academy Training Program
The Lifeguard Academy Training Program is especially for Athens-Clarke County teens, ages 15-18, providing not only job training but potentially a summer job.

Through the Lifeguard Academy, participants are given the opportunity
to earn their lifeguard certification free of charge. With this certification, teens will be interviewed for summer part-time jobs with ACC Leisure Services. Spaces are limited to 10 participants, so apply early.

Session 1: Monday -Friday, March 8-12 at the University of Georgia's Ramsey Center

Complete an application form and return it to Memorial Park (293 Gran Ellen Drive) no later than Monday, February 22.

ACC Leisure Services Report Card Rewards Program
Making the grade at the swimming pool!

ACC Leisure Services offers a new summer program celebrating students with good grades!

In order to be eligible, any student, Kindergarten through 12th grade, enrolled in a private or public school in Athens-Clarke County may bring his/her final report card to any of the Leisure Services five pools - Bishop Park, East Athens Community Center, Lay Park, Memorial Park, and Rocksprings Park and earn a special reward.

A report card with all A's or all E's guarantees a free summer pool pass. A report card with all A's and B's, or all E's and M's, is good for 16 free swims, and a report card with all A's, B's, and no more than 2 C's receives 8 free swims for the summer.

Keep those grades up during the school year and earn a free swimming pass during the summer!

Mermaid and Merman Days at Bishop Park Pool
A 4-day aquatics program with mermaid themed activities which include: diving for pearls, seashell crafts, water races and games, and edible aquariums. Children must have proficient swim skills to be registered for this program. Space is limited to 20 participants.

Pirate Days at Bishop Park Pool
A 4-day aquatics program with pirate themed activities which include: diving for treasure, foam sword fighting, inflatable crocodile wrestling, and pirate crafts. Children must have proficient swim skills to be registered for this program. Space is limited to 20 participants.
